Five people were killed and 28 were injured when a bus collided with a truck in the Torbalı district of İzmir province on Tuesday.
A passenger bus driven by Sedat Atar, heading from Fethiye to İzmir, crashed into a truck on the Aydın-İzmir highway near the village of Sağlık in Torbalı and veered off the road. Five people died at the scene of the accident, three of whom were reported to be Atar and two passengers, Emine Gebeş and Suat Ünver. The driver of the truck, Aydemir Yeşilyurt, and 27 other bus passengers were injured in the accident and were taken to Ege University Faculty of Medicine Hospital, Bozyaka Education and Research Hospital and Bornova State Hospital.
