Ambassador Emie paid a visit to Governor of İzmir, Vahit Ali Kılıç, as set in İzmir program of the occasion. Emie made a statement to the press and noted that there is a deep-rooted “love story” between France and Turkey.
He recalled that İzmir had, historically, a significant influence on Marceilles. The Ambassador also drew attention to the extensively warm and close relations between İzmir and other French cities.
Emie expressed French willingness to contribute cultural, political and economic development projects in İzmir, noting that they seek cooperation opportunities particularly in the field of transportation and solid waste transformation.
The Ambassador stated that France ranks second in the list of top investors in Turkey and expressed their desire to zoom further ahead. He also noted that the annual amount of 100.000 tourists visiting İzmir would increase thanks to the activities to be performed in the “Turkish Season”.
